It feels so strange to be in this place, because about 15 months ago I packed off this group of excellent stock because we had a problem with the neighbors wolf-hybrids. We woke up one morning to screaming goats, only to find one buckling dead and our excellent and well travelled new herdsire with his hind end chewed. Much (waay too much) effort was put into trying to get these dogs removed from the neighborhood, to no avail. I found a wonderful place for my best stock to go on lease. The lease arrangement was a Godsend; it gave us time to set things straight with the neighbors, and it gave the people doing the leasing an opportunity to breed excellent stock for a new foundation herd.
We got our stock back, and within two days found out that the timing wasn't going to work. I have had job opportunities come my way...a blessing in this economy. My kids have moved on to other interests, pursuing music and sports. While it would be just fine to have some nice friendly pet goats...this group of foundation animals is meant to be used for breeding, milking, and showing. It is my hope to find them places where they can do just that. Other than our DesertNanny doe, all of these animals are from out of state lines. You can no longer (at this time) get a Dawnland Farm Tabby's Halifax son, as this herdsire has passed on, and his offspring are being retained. This group of goats has great potential for the show ring here in Arizona.
I will be selling equipment as well: a metal milkstand that has tires and breaks down into a dolly (this was the BEST piece of goat equipment I ever bought!)a brand new tattoo kit, brand new stainless steel milk container, 2 qt milk bucket, milk strainer with filters. I am also willing to negotiate in minerals, horse treats, plastic doghouses, and even some hog panels from the pens I will no longer be using. I will post those later.
Please do not hesitate to call to ask questions!
