Gracie is nearly pure Flat Rocks, and goes back to foundations herds. In the time I have been involved with goats, she has come to serve as the ideal Nigerian doe in my eyes. She is not show perfect, but supremely represents what we wanted to build a herd upon: a functional dairy goat with a strong will to milk, an exceptional temperament that is passed on to her kids (along with the will to milk), an easy birther, a good mother, and a healthy adaptable animal. She MILKS, and LOVES to be milked, and has great easy to milk teats. With us, she easily gave us a half gallon per day being milked only once per day in the morning, and sharing that milk with her babies. While on lease, her caretaker reported getting nearly a gallon of milk per day while bottle feeding her kids. She has produced exceptional offspring who have proven themselves on milk test. She would VERY likely do well at shows outside of the highly competitive Texas area, where she did moderately well. She has been classified as "VG" (two years ago) with AGS. She did well on the scorecard with front end assembly, as well as feet and legs, and angularity.
It makes me so sad to be selling her. I would keep her as a pet based on her sweet personality alone, but that would be a complete waste of her potential. While on lease she was bred to Cody and had some AMAZING kids. I would keep back every daughter on this cross to watch! I will be very picky about where she goes.
